(On YouTube.com )

A well stitched documentary from Islamic Videos.net covering the Moorish rule in Medieval Spain. Renown  Medieval historian Bettany Hughes offers an exceptional academic narrative of this pivotal period in world history where Muslim, Jew, and Christian peacefully coexisted in a golden age within the earthly paradise that was Al Andalus, the "The Lantern of the Moorish Empire!"

BBC's The Art of Spain

(On YouTube.com)

A brilliant educational torchlight revealing the art and culture of medieval Spain. In a seven part series, historian Andrew Graham-Dixon deftly explores Spain's artistic culture, past and present, with a magnifier on the historic Moorish influence still prevalent throughout the Iberian peninsula today. Part two (The Moorish South), highlights key aspects of the Moorish rule in Spain when Spain was essentially a province country of the once mighty Moorish Empire.

In his annexed video series (The Dark heart), Graham-Dixon zooms in on the mystical cathedral and palace paintings of 17th and 18th century Spain and some of the artists responsible for the world's greatest canvass & brush masterpieces.

This video comes to the site on the recommendation of Bro. Nasr Ismael of Newark New Jersey.

"This Empire Is Not For Sale!"

This curious 18th century painting (rendition) depicts a Moorish chief (most likely a 12th century Dey - according to attire) refusing "blood-money" offers from an Arab delegation, as he indignantly bids them to take their offerings, a pot of gold; an urn of wine; silks, etc., and return to their own land. "This Empire is not for sale!"  Notice the portly Arab is holding a bow, as he and his delegation appear quite startled.

This painting is recommended by Moorish Rite Freemason Aalim Bey El Dey.

Moors In Medieval Art

 (On YouTube.com)

From Darazz Productions (youtube channel darazz25), comes this visually engaging vista of Medieval European art. Of course, European artists of this period often considered it an artistic rule or obligation to include Moors in their portraits, evidencing a peaceful cohabitation between Moors and Christians. Other art forms, such as relief and sculpture necessarily depicted Moors, sometimes as religious figures even.  While most art on video display here is indeed Medieval, some items, however, are not from that period.

The Moorish Rite Patriarchal Father And "Father of Pure Masonic Thought."

From Clifford E. Hazel Bey lodge N0.1 (Lodge In Formation) in Fayetteville, North Carolina, comes this creative vista honoring Brother Angelo Soliman. While we enjoy this illustration, we commend Brothers Aldridge, Bey and others for their upstanding work in the Tar Heel state.  What is particularly and peculiarly  notable about this illustration is the unusual image of a Moor within the same view of the Masonic Square & Compasses, which by the way is not the lone Masonic symbol in this picture. Can you recognize others?
